Stagecoaches for Cargo Transport

Although horses are no longer used as a primary mode of transportation in most modern-day civilizations all over the world, they are still bred for their strong built and powerful hooves. In fact, there is still a great percent of industrial manufacturers nowadays who opt for an earth-friendly way to transporting certain materials from point A to point B. This is done with the aid of a stagecoach, a classic vehicle design having four wheels. It is usually made of sturdy materials to ensure durability and efficient function for long journeys.

A stagecoach is usually pulled by a herd of horses, the number depending on the weight of the load and the distance between the base point and the destination. Usually, though, it involves teams of four horses pulling a cargo of timber, metals, and other such heavyweight materials used for building industrial structures. To ensure the horse’s well-being and to maintain speed, there is a certain replacement system applied, which will require the stagecoach to undergo periodical stops while replacing the horses with another team. This resting period shall also be utilized for feeding the herd and letting them take up liquid to prevent fatigue and dehydration. It is also during these periods that materials are loaded and unloaded from the stagecoach. Stagecoach transportation is becoming less significant as railroad transportation started to emerge into the scene. However, for areas which are not accessible to trains, this old-fashioned yet still reliable cargo transportation is still being used.
